Impact of the Internets Globalization

Globalization affects my life every day. Whether I go to a fast food restaurant that someone else is also going to on the other side of the earth, or on Sundays when I go to our church that is a worldwide organization. I’m a part of globalization even when I’m surfing the web or watching my favorite movie! Globalization is everywhere.
I want to focus on the content I see everyday on a screen. Through the Internet, globalization makes the fastest and easiest growth. An article on the Globalization 101 website states, “IT has been the catalyst for global integration.”
At least once a day, I go on multiple social media sites, where ads from many different international businesses crowd the screen, and memes from random people that could possibly live in different countries are always available. It’s easier than ever to contact people that live miles away! My sister lives in California, and we are able to Face Time or Skype her and her family for no cost to us at any time we want. It’s amazing how much faster an email can get to a person across the country instead of mail. If I mail a letter to a missionary, they won’t get it for at least another week. But if I email them they get it right away and we’re able to keep in contact much easier and quicker.
Through the Internet, information from all across the world is accessible. Although there are still some countries that are inaccessible, news about every war or severe weather causes destruction. At my work they encourage the employees to read the news when we have free time, so I simply type in ‘news’ into Google and millions of stories are right at my fingertips for me to read! The Internet helps me stay up to date on important happenings, and educates me.
Apps are another resource that I use many times a day, and are being globalized more and more every day. It seems like a new app is made every minute nowadays, and there are all types of them. Apps such as Instagram and Twitter I use all the time, and they are also used all over the world, and many game apps where I can play people from any part of the world are free to use.
Although some people say the Internet has made the world more negative, I believe the world is a more positive place because of it. We are more connected, educated, and informed than ever before. Globalization of the Internet has changed the world, and it’s here to stay.
